Huey P. Newton was born in Februry 17, 1942 and past away August 22, 1989. He was born in Monroe, Louisiana died in Oakland, California. Huey was an activist if the Black panther party for self Defences. The Black panther party was a organization that promoted civil rights and self derence. His mother and Father was Amelia and Walter Newton. They maved to Oakland, California when Huey was three. Growing up Huey didnt know how to read. He read Plato's republic over five times and then he began to understand it. That mean him want to becaome a leader because he knew right then and there that he was a motivatied person and that would inspired others.

Huey Newton was in College when he start getting involved in politis the Bay Area. He also started to join a african American Association (AAA). Huey was a member of Phi Beta Sigma. Fraternity, Inc. In college he played a very big role in getting a black history course. During his studies Huey and Bobby seale built and oranization together called the Black Panther Party. Newton was the minster of Defense while seale was just a chairman.

August 22, 1989 Huey Newton was shot in the Acorn Projects neighborhood by a 24-year-old Tyrone Robinson. Officers claimed that the killer was a known drug dealer in Oakland.It was reported that Newton and Robinson had known each other for two years. They argued over a cocaine deal so Robinson shot Huey multiple times.
